FIGURES AND
FIGUREHEADS These
were specific commissions of carvings That celebrate traditional themes.
(figureheads, cigar store figures, hotel goddesses and restaurant
ornamentation.
FURNITURE
I like to collaborate with other artists whenever
possible. My favorite collaborator is my brother William Clarke (cabinet
maker). Because of the family connection, working together
often resembles the telepathic. At the very least, we work harmoniously
together.
 SIGNS
The majority of my commissioned work are
commercial signs. Within the limitations of graphic design I have
managed to create an individualistic carving style that has been
successful and long lasting in harsh climates from New
England to Hawaii.
